However, not all that occasionally we'll be told a tale about a funny feline that's decided to take advantage of some of our Herdwick wool felt, and make a bed out of it. This got us thinking, why weren't we offering up natural wool felt cat beds? So, here we are. Not only did we want to make something high quality, we wanted to ensure it was sustainable tool. So we've ensured every single one of our wool cat beds is made from only the highest quality, natural materials - locally sourced where possible. But, in addition to this we've made sure to utilise only low energy, small batch production methods that produce minimal waste - ensuring this felt cat cosy bed is truly sustainable, low carbon and puts minimal strain on the environment. Cats adore tight spaces, so when designing our PetSnug felted wool cat beds we wanted to ensure not only did they look great, but that they would be loved by felines too. So, we decided to go with a raised wall circular design, a nice tight space for your cat to curl up in. A lovely safe and secure spot. We decided to add a comfortable wool cushion at the bottom too, to not only ensure the cat bed was a warm and cosy spot that kittens would love, but also to add a little stylish pop of colour too.

Made of tightly felted locally sourced Herdwick sheep wool each individual PetSnug wool felt cat bed is handmade carefully by team members in our factory close to the Lake District. We source all of our Herdwick wool directly from farmers within Cumbria, every farmer is paid a fair price for their Herdwick wool and we collect it directly. Each PetSnug cosy cat bed is finished off with a plump, wool filled pet cushion, stuffed to the brim with you guessed it. More sheep wool. The perfect comfy perch for your feline friend!

All of our PetSnug felted wool cat beds are made from entirely natural materials. There's not a gram of plastic in them. The outer cosy is made entirely of natural Herdwick wool, tightly knit into a firm felt so it holds its shape. Inside the outer felt shell, there's a fluffy wool cushion covered in natural bright organic cotton - that's not only water resistant but wipeable too . What size PetSnug wool felt cat bed should I purchase?

So, there are two sizes of PetSnug wool felt cat beds available, for both smaller and larger cats.

The smaller PetSnug wool cat bed measures approximately : 36cm in diameter and is 20cm tall.

Whilst the larger PetSnug woollen cat bed measures approximately: 45cm in diameter and is 23cm tall.

When choosing a PetSnug cat bed we'd recommend taking your cats personality into account, as well as their size. Some cats very much prefer squeezing into tighter spaces than others - in fact we've known a cat or two that loves to sleep pretty sprawled out, rather than curled up into a cosy ball. So if your cats a sprawler it might be better to size up!

Larger breeds of cat such as Maine Coons will probably benefit from the larger PetSnug wool cat cosy, simply because they're bigger. Where as if you have a young kitten, we'd recommend sizing down, simply because a smaller bed means a safer securer spot for your tiny feline. If you're lucky enough to have two cats that love to share a sleeping space the larger PetSnug is also perfect for this, you should find there's ample room for two smaller cats to squeeze in comfortably.

Why should I choose a wool felt cat bed for my cat?

Not only is wool an incredibly comfortable natural material, it's got a whole host of other properties that make it a wonderful thing to make cat beds out of.

How can I reduce my cats carbon paw print?

Unbelievably an average  cat produces approximately 310 kg of carbon per year approximately the same amount as half of a small petrol car! A crazy amount for such as small pet. This figure does take into account things like food and apparel, but this figure does show that owning cats directly contributes to environmental damage. Since cats produce quite a significant amount of carbon dioxide per year, they're directly contributing to the increasing amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere, as well as things like the greenhouse effect.

But, as cat owners, there are things you can do to help reduce your kittens impact on the planet. The main thing you can do is make sustainable and eco-friendly choices for them. Reduce their carbon paw print! Unfortunately your cat can't do this on their own. So, it's up to you to make the like-for-like swaps needed to help protect the earth. There's some pretty simple things you can do to make step towards making your cat's lifestyle that bit more eco-friendly.
