A Study in Durable Craft: The Silo Standard Original gear for your daily rituals with a hand thrown coffee mug designed for the modern homestead. There is something grounding about a mug that has weight to it. It's a physical reminder to slow down and appreciate the materials that make up our daily lives.

"I curated the Silo Mug for the Mercantile because it represents the peak of 'Buy Less, Buy Better' utility," says Jordan. "As a designer, I’m drawn to the two-tone contrast of the smooth cream glaze against the raw, unglazed clay base and the hand thrown marks from the makers that make every mug unique. It’s a tactile experience that mass-produced ceramics can't compete with. In my Putnam studio, this is the mug I want during my morning rush and the long hours at the drawing board".

From the Logbook: “Why I chose Farmhouse Pottery for the Mercantile—an exploration of durable craft and intentional living.” [Read More]

Handcrafted in Woodstock, Vermont Every Silo Mug is wheel-thrown by a master potter at Farmhouse Pottery. This isn't just a vessel; it’s a piece of American stoneware built to survive the rigors of intentional living.

  • Natural Integrity: Crafted from 100% American stoneware clay, free from synthetic additives or "chemical mimics".
  • Thermal Performance: The thick-walled construction provides superior heat retention, keeping your coffee or tea at the ideal temperature longer than standard ceramic.
  • Tactile Grip: The signature raw clay base provides a natural, secure texture that feels substantial and stable in the hand.

The Curator's Standard: Meet Jordan Kempain Every item in the Kempain Mercantile is hand-vetted by Jordan, a professional designer with over 15 years of industry experience. Since the founding of Kempain Family Outfitters, Jordan has been focused on a "Buy Less, Buy Better" philosophy, selecting natural materials and heritage-brand partners from his studio in Putnam, Connecticut.

Excellent Quality
Size: 11"x17", Size: 11"x17"
This paper is the only paper I have ever tried with my sublimation printer. I get the most vibrant colors with every transfer. I have not experienced any fading even after washing multiple times. I have purchased this paper in letter size, 11x17, as well as 13x19 for use on welcome doormats. I have not been disappointed with any. The paper feeds through my printer without issue whether I load a single sheet, or multiples. So far, I've used it to sublimate on dishtowels, garden flags, welcome mats, t shirts, sweatshirts, and mugs. I am always happy with the finished product. I highly recommend this sublimation paper, and it can usually be found at a great price. I advise you to stock up when you see a sale

Best sub paper!
Size: 8.5"x11"
This is actually my second box of this paper I purchased. I use it that much! I like it that much! It works easily through my Epson 2850. The sub ink transfers to this paper with vibrant colors before pressing. I like the ASub print on the back to help me load the paper correctly in my printer. The ink does not bleed through the paper. I like that this paper comes in a plastic bag and in a box. This is helpful to keep the moisture out of the paper. The paper is durable as I try to manipulate on my substrate.
