TransportTags is proud to present to you a true icon of the Soviet Air Force and the Vietnam War - the MiG-17 "Fresco-A", Serial Number 541499, with nose marking "Red 124". These remarkable TransportTags, made from the skin of this storied MiG-17A, not only represent the legacy of the "Fresco" but also serve as a testament to the rich heritage of both the Soviet and Bulgarian Air Forces. Manufactured on September 21, 1953 in the USSR, this MiG-17 “Fresco-A” variant first took to the skies as part of the Soviet Air Force, showcasing the technological strides of its era. After being decommissioned from the Soviet Air Force, it was delivered to the Bulgarian Air Force in December 1961, thus creating a legacy of service that spanned years and transcended borders.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, this MiG-17A was an integral part of the 21st Fighter Regiment (21 IAP) in Uzundzhovo, Bulgaria, steadily clocking hours and demonstrating its reliability. By 1981, it was transferred to the 26th Reconnaissance Regiment (26 RAP) in Tolbuhin, Bulgaria (now known as Dobrich). The aircraft dutifully served with the regiment until its retirement, recording a total of 2315:29 hours on its airframe. These flight hours stand as testimony of the countless missions it embarked upon, each one contributing to its rich history and impressive record.

The mid-1980s marked the end of this MiG-17's active service, but not its journey.  After retirement, it was stored at the Dolna Mitropoliya Airbase in Bulgaria, maintaining its silent vigil under the skies it once conquered. In the mid-1990s, the aircraft was put up for sale and eventually found its way to the USA, continuing its legacy across the Atlantic. The journey of this aircraft, from the assembly line in the Soviet Union, soaring the skies of the Motherland, and then in Uzundzhovo Bulgaria in the 70s, through its storage at Dolna Mitropoliya in 1995 - and its eventual migration to the USA, stands as a true testament to the enduring spirit of aviation and the impressive history of the MiG-17 "Fresco".

TransportTags acquired this MiG-17 in the fall of 2023. We were impressed with its provenance and pedigree from not just the Soviet Air Force, but also the Bulgarian Air Force. Sadly, this MiG had been stripped and scattered during its importation process to the United States, so it was not feasible to do a full restoration. However, we felt that it was an important aircraft, and that through our tags its history could be preserved and shared, effectively saluting the “Frescos” storied legacy.

These MiG-17 TransportTags showcase the breathtaking and vibrant color scheme of the Bulgarian Air Force. From the mesmerizing blue on the underside to the rugged green and tan camouflages, the striking anodized gold, and the exquisite Red Star Roundel of the Bulgarian Air Force, these tags capture the essence of the aircraft's livery. It can be argued that the Bulgarian Air Force's livery is the most vibrant among all MiG-17 aircraft. When you are holding a MiG-17 TransportTag in your hand, you are not just holding a piece of aviation history - but also a part of the Soviet Union.

Major Safety Red Flag! 3 Prong Outlets, 2 Prong Plug, This Does Not Provide A Grounded Connection!
Size: 5FT, Color: White 2prong, Size: 5FT, Color: White 2prong
This power strip has a compact design, a convenient outlet layout, and USB ports, so on the surface it looks useful. The patented three-row layout is clever for spacing the outlets, but that only applies to how the outlets are positioned. It does not change how the strip is actually powered or protected. The problem is the safety design. It has 11 three-prong outlets, but the wall plug itself is only two-prong. Without a ground prong, it is not grounded. The two flat prongs are hot and neutral only, so this does not provide the grounded protection that the three-prong outlets appear to suggest. That also makes the surge protection claims highly questionable to me. A real grounded surge protector should have a grounding path for excess surge energy. With only a two-prong plug, I would not trust this to provide the kind of surge protection people generally expect when plugging in electronics or grounded devices. The manual mentions surge protection, ground protection, short-circuit protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, over-heat protection, and UL 1363 safety standards, but I could not find any visible UL, ETL, or similar safety certification mark on the unit or paperwork. The only marking I saw was FCC, which is not the same thing as electrical safety certification. Given the two-prong plug and three-prong outlets, those protection claims feel dubious at best and misleading at worst. The USB charging is also underwhelming. The total USB output is listed as 24W, which is not much for today’s devices, especially when that power is shared across multiple ports. We frequently use 35W or higher from a single USB charger, so I would not buy this for fast or modern device charging either. Because of the two-prong plug paired with three-prong outlets, I will absolutely not use this. I do not want a power strip that makes devices appear protected or grounded when they are not. For me, this is not a small design issue. It is a serious safety concern.

Convenient Design but Raises Some Safety Concerns
Size: 5FT, Color: White 2prong, Size: 5FT, Color: White 2prong
As other reviews have mentioned, this power strip does not provide true grounding protection. It allows devices with three-prong plugs to connect through a two-prong wall outlet, but the strip itself still relies on a two-prong connection. Because of that, I think it’s important to understand the potential safety limitations before using it, especially with higher-powered electronics. It does offer a large number of outlets and USB ports, which is convenient for older homes with limited access to modern plugs. However, considering the price, there are safer and more reliable alternatives available that may be a better long-term choice.

Good Buy - 4 USB Ports (USB C) Hurray! - Fits Well In Cable Management Box - Long Flat (!!!) Cord
Size: 10 Ft, Color: White
Good Product. I have 16 x 6 x 5 cable management boxes. This is the first power strip that I have found with 4 USB ports with USB C. Because it is a single row of outlets, the power supplies for 2 laptops fit in the box. I have those, a lamp, phone, and iPAD, with 1 extra USB and 1 USB C cord plugged in. The low profile inside the larger ventilated box keeps things from overheating. It has taken a bit of adjusting to get everybody in the right place but it works great. The flat cable is smart. It fits under the corner of the rug without leaving a bump.

Great for Any Inside Area
Size: 10 Ft, Color: White
I bought two of these these for my office at work and the power is unstable and there are not many outlets (work for the schools) and the building is old - built in 1977. These have done the trick and I have had no issues with my electronics.

Perfect for my home office!
Size: 10 Ft, Color: Black
This 10 ft power strip has been a game changer for my home office. The cord is super long, which makes it easy to run along the wall or under furniture without any weird stretching. I really like the flat plug—it fits snugly behind my desk and doesn’t take up space like bulky ones do. The 7 outlets are spaced well so I can actually use all of them without the plugs getting in each other’s way. The 4 USB ports (especially the 2 USB-C ones) are super handy for charging my phone, tablet, and earbuds without needing extra adapters. Everything charges quickly, and it feels solid and well-made. I also like knowing it has surge protection built in, especially with how many electronics I have plugged in. Definitely recommend this if you want something that’s sleek, efficient, and built to handle a modern setup.
