Spittle Records present a reissue of Neon's first album Rituals, originally released in 1985. Neon is undoubtedly one of the most influential and enduring bands of the Italian new wave. From the beginning, the band's music was perfectly aligned with continental trends - integrating the attitude of early post-punk with certain types of electronic music that had timidly begun popping up on the club circuit, and an aesthetic that was a cross between late romanticism and decadentism. Inimitable bands like Neon breathed new life into even the most disagreeable and angular rock and roll, flirting with war-like dance music, and creating musical scenarios that were unheard of up until that point, placing them in harmony with some of the most talked-about British and German bands of the time. After a string of 12"s (five altogether) and a 7", the band finally released their first LP, Rituals (originally released for the KinderGarten label and distributed by the major label, Polygram). This crucial album, which unquestionably represented the band's creative peak, is being re-released by Spittle not merely for the sake of the album itself, but also as part of a wider campaign to document the Italian new wave scene. The eight tracks that make up this reissue represent one of the most original possible journeys into the Italian underground. Obsessively rhythmic, like a pagan ritual, with the vagueness and asperity of primordial rock and roll and an inkling of late seventies/early eighties electronica; a cultured dance, officiously contaminated by the sound of guitars that lead on their journey - if for no other reason than the act of faith performed for guru Jimi Hendrix in their cover of "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp". This "return to the scene of the crime" is essential in the rediscovery of one of the most sober and adventurous breeds of Italian rock.

Yeah… about that.
Within the first ten minutes, the giraffe’s squeaker gave up the ghost. By the thirty‑minute mark, one of our puppies had already liberated one of its appendages and was preparing to eat it. When I took the giraffe away, he immediately redirected his enthusiasm toward the mallard and removed a wing.
Our other puppy went straight for the Red‑Headed Chicken’s throat. She succeeded. She was also making impressive progress on opening the back of its neck.
At that point, all three toys had to be confiscated, and the remaining two are still sitting in the box untouched because I value my dogs’ digestive tracts.
To be fair, the toys sound fantastic—literally. My puppies adored the squeaks, honks, and crinkles. They had a blast tossing them around and sprinting through the house. But the moment they settled down for a chew session, it was game over.
I’m genuinely disappointed that these toys require constant supervision to prevent accidental ingestion, and that my dogs can’t safely enjoy them the way they’re meant to.
If your dogs chew even a little, these toys are not worth the investment.

Waste of money

So much for indestructible, it wasn’t in my home five minutes before the leg came off. No exaggeration! Dixy had the toy in her mouth and I reached up to wiggle it and the leg came off in my hand and no Dixy wasn’t pulling away. I only purchased this toy because it claimed to be indestructible. After shipping and handling it cost me $30. I justified the cost because I thought it would be worth it for Dixy to have a toy that would last. Isn’t that the impression you get by the discrimination “indestructible” To add insult to injury this company sent a second one for another $30 and it really ticks me off that the product discrimination on even the return label still describes it as an indestructible plush dog toy. Please don’t waste your money this not as advertised. There’s nothing about this product to justify the outrageous expense for a toy that didn’t last five minutes.
