A generous, square roof fully covers the body, and overhangs the 1.5" diameter entry for protection from rain. This entry is perfectly sized for bluebirds, and grooves beneath it provide them gripping spots without a perch. The gray tone of the roof and front panel, along with ventilation holes on the side panels, prevent nestlings from overheating, and the front lifts upward for nest checks. The deep chamber aids in protection from predators, and predrilled holes on the back panel make it easy to place this home against a post or wall. The dark brown side panels mesh with the outdoors, and the recycled plastic construction and stainless steel hardware last for many seasons. Have to get used to the butterfly latch, but after a few days, now I learned to open and close it without any effort. In short, It”s a good value watch, nice, good looking, accurate.
