For Dante and other people in the Middle Ages, numbers had a different set of connotations than they do for moderns. The symbolism of numbers was both widespread and profoundly ingrained in the culture. In this classic study, a noted scholar reveals "how deeply rooted in medieval thought was the consciousness of numbers, not as mathematical tools, nor yet as the counters in a game, but as fundamental realities, alive with memories and eloquent with meaning."For example, the number three -- linked to the Trinity -- was of special significance, and "endowed every repetition of the number three with a richness of meaning which can be but dimly grasped by the modern reader." Numbers derived from constellations, planets, stellar revolutions, and other astronomical phenomena were also thought to have divine associations. These and many other aspects of the topic are illuminated here. In the first three chapters, the author examines the three main sources of number symbolism; basic, elementary symbols derived from man's struggles to count and identify such natural groupings as fingers and toes; the ancient Babylonian science of astrology; and Pythagorean number theory, which fixed the relationship of the numbers to one another. The fourth and fifth chapters deal with the Gnostics' elaborate combination of these elements, and the adoption and elaboration of number philosophy by the early Church Fathers. The last two sections examine medieval number philosophy and Dante's use of number symbolism, particularly in The Divine Comedy.
Of special interest to medievalists, numerologists, and students of literature, this volume will also fascinate anyone interested in symbology or cultural aspects of the Middle Ages.

Great wrist rest. Smooth finish, good looks, and ideal wrist angle.
This wrist rest sets you up for pretty optimal, level height to prevent future wrist problems. I went with the nice reddish/brown color as it matches my brown wood Edifier speakers and other brown accessories very nicely. Nice matte finish that avoids showing finger prints and skin oils. The color is perfect, not too red or too brown.
Keep in mind if your keyboard is angled in the front it will leave a bit of a gap, however it is unnoticeable to me. Also, make sure your arm rests of your chair can come high enough to meet the half inch or so thick wrist rest. My arm rests are a bit low for the time being so some extra pressure is put on my arm behind the wrist when resting on the chair supports.

Not for me
Color: Golden Oak, Size: Mouse Wrist Rest
It's tough to review something like this that functions perfectly, but just wasn't the right fit. The Glorious wrist rest for the keyboard is perfect and exactly what I wanted/needed, but the mouse rest caused hand and wrist pain. I swapped it out for a squishy alternative and that worked much better. I have a theory it might have been due to the relatively low height of my ektecity gaming mouse relative to the mouse rest. My keyboard is a higher height and that may be why the wood keyboard rest works so much better.

Well-crafted book rest for desk

I love this perfectly-sized and shaped board! I wanted something to tilt my daily planner up so it was easier to see and write on throughout the day. Book stands just don't work for my use. This tucks under my computer, so it frees space to work (see photo). The wood, the soft edges, and its finish are well crafted and beautiful. The pads on the bottom keep it from sliding on my desk. I'm thinking about buying another for my home in a spot where I read every morning.

It's a chunk of wood! Finish is great, height is great, looks great. Easy to clean unlike foam ones.
I did get one that was warped but the replacement was fine. Just check that it's actually flat when you get it

Decent product. Fits perfectly for 61/64 keys. Just slightly short for 68.
The finish seems fine for the piece I received. Didn't get any splinters or rough edges. Treated it with mineral oil overnight, it now touches and smells great. Just slightly too short for 68 layout but really can't complain for the price. Wish they offer more width options for TKL and full size as well.
