The Handmade Story is an incredible female upliftment enterprise founded by  one of our favourite humans, Merewyn De Heer. Based in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa, Merewyn's stunning designs have now graced hotels, private homes and commercial spaces all over the world.

Clay is distributed to artisans in the community, enabling those who are unable to travel due to distance or illness to still earn a dignified income. Once sun dried, the beads are purchased from the makers, and kiln fired to produce durable ceramic beads.
