Shereen LaPlantzÕ popular how-to book titled, "Innovative Bookbinding: Secret Compartments & Hidden Messages," was a massive hit that sold out instantly in two hand-bound editions in 1997 and 2000. After multitudinous requests, we are pleased to present this 2013 edition. ShereenÕs premise was that Òwe can take our books one step further, hide something extra in them, then they will be so much more dynamic!Ó

The first and second editions included four hand-bound ÒSecret Compartments and Hidden Messages.Ó This third edition, using todayÕs technology reproduces these books photographically in new special sections that illustrate Shereen's original book and her very original vision.

Shereen LaPlantz made her final transition in 2003. Thanks to the dedication of her husband, David LaPlantz, this 2013 edition has been very carefully recreated and is lovingly dedicated to ShereenÕs memory and all of the magic and love she gave to the Book Arts world.

The premium quality at this affordable price is a great deal to me. You'd see these sort of designs sold on high-end desk organization companies at expensive ($$) prices. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, this is a solid laptop stand that was built with the utmost attention to detail. The walnut panels are lined with scratch-resistant felt pads while the aluminum base has a silicone cushion to protect your devices when placing them in. The silicone feet and sturdy weight prevents the stand from moving and tipping over. The adjustability feature is great, especially if you want to accommodate several devices or even books. Per its specifications, I find that it accurately accommodates items ranging from 2cm (0.7in) up to 4cm (1.5in) in width. It fits my 2020 Macbook Air 13" perfectly.
