When Prohibition shuttered saloons, thirsty law-abiding citizens turned to soda fountains for sustenance and entertainment. Parlor owners developed concoctions to suit every taste--and to keep their counters and tables full. Names from the soda shop menu hint at the dimensions of change in this dynamic era: Prohibition Sour, Flapper Frapp , and sundaes like the Suffragist, Soldier Boy Kiss, and "Reel" Nice Movie--all of which are included in this volume--are among scores of tasty, innovative treats. Soda Shop Salvation collects more than 125 recipes for imaginative drinks, sundae varieties, and luncheonette delights from the 1920s, evoking the time of speakeasies, newfangled devices, and racy automobiles. Tidbits of the history of suffragists and flappers, bootleggers and G-men--whose collective commentary demonstrates that the nation's approach to Prohibition was anything but straightforward--interweave with the recipes. Excerpts and quotes from publications of the time offer advice for entrepreneurs, tips on early road food, and some really corny jokes. Consistently Warm Cup Every Time

I resisted getting an electronic coffee warmer, because I hadn't had one in years. I am so glad that I changed my mind. I am no longer having to microwave my coffee again and again as it gets cold. I love that this coffee warmer has multiple temperature options. I love that I can adjust the number of hours (1-12) until I would like it to automatically shut off. It heats up quickly, so you needn't plan ahead. When you want it, it is fully functional on the spot. Since it has a heating function, my policy is to unplug it when not in use. I wouldn't give this as a gift, not because it isn't awesome, but because owning it requires a personal commitment to using it responsibly. And you must have a suitable cup. My cup, as you see here, is a celodon cup. It heats perfectly well even though the base has a shallow rim rather than a flat bottom, which makes direct contact with the heating table. If you have a similar cup, be assured that will be just fine and your coffee or other liquid will stay warm. Its versatile functionality and beautiful design make this an excellent value for the money. To me, there's nothing like a good cup of coffee in the morning and this warmer makes all the difference as it is uniformally a perfect cup, even if I get interrupted.

I got this to replace a rather inexpensive mug warmer that had quit working just a few months after purchase. This one is nice, you can adjust the temp, adjust how long it stays on, and it has an easy to read display so you know them temp and auto shut-off time. Its versatile as it fits a variety of mugs/cups and it works really well.

Best mug warmer I’ve ever had!

This does what I had hoped my other two mug warmers would do. Actually keep my coffee hot. I also love that I can set the timer so that I don’t accidentally leave it on. Additionally, my other two warmers were activated by setting the cup down on the warmer, which meant that if somebody sat something else beside a coffee cup on it, it burned it. And that did happen. This one is only hot when you turn it on. I can also change the temperature settings and choose how long I want it to be on up to 12 hours. I definitely will buy this again for another room in the house.

Love this coffee warmer. It’s perfect in every way. Not cheap junk. It is good quality. The heating base is large enough to hold my large coffee mug.. It has four rubber feet on the bottom for stability, about a quarter size digital temperature viewing, yes, it does heat up fast. I love everything about it. It is the best $20 purchase I have made in years ❤️ I highly recommend this one if you’re looking for one to keep your coffee warm 😎
