In den späten 1970er- und frühen 1980er-Jahren setzt sich Schmalix, dessen Werke in dieser Phase von einer gesteigerten Farbkraft geprägt sind, mit den Bildgenres Stillleben, Landschaft, Akt und Porträt auseinander – zunehmend expressiv und mit einer großen Affinität zu den Brücke-Malern. Ab Mitte der 1980er-Jahre wird der weibliche Akt zum dominierenden Sujet, der nun in der Tradition von asiatischen Farbholzschnitten erscheint. In den 1990er-Jahren erweitert sich sein Vokabular durch die Begegnung mit der Westcoast-Malerei um religiöse Sujets, die Christusbilder und die Stadtansichten von Los Angeles. In seinen jüngsten Arbeiten nimmt Schmalix die Buntfarbigkeit zurück und widmet sich – in der Tradition des Fotokünstlers Nobuyoshi Araki – vor allem der Darstellung des weiblichen Akts als Ausdruck erotischer Fantasien von Fesselungsritualen.Ausstellung: Neue Galerie Graz am Landesmuseum Joanneum 10.2.–15.4.2007

Upgrade from our last one, nice box, easy to read and adjust. Standard plug

One of our old coffee mug warmers finally died and we were looking for a replacement - this is way better than the old one. It comes in a nice printed box - so great for a gift. Standard AC plug and really easy to see button on front. This one shows the temperature and that's handy. It's just the right size for a good sized coffee mug and keeps it warm for hours - if the coffee lasts that long. It's easy to see that it's on so I can turn it off, but it also has auto off if you forget. I'm not really sure what the silicon topper is for, but it sure does look nice. Easy to clean when turned off and I have to say it's pretty professional looking.
It's a 30 watt model so it draws enough energy to keep that coffee warm and can heat up to 180 - that's too hot for my use but I'm sure you can warm something else with it.
Overall: A huge upgrade from our last one. Easier to read, use and clean.

Good mug warmer

I like this mug warmer a lot. You can choose your temp and it keeps my tea very hot. I also like the auto shut off so I don't have the panic of "did I turn it off? My two minor complaints: 1. The rubber pad that comes with it doesn't stay in place and gets very hot. I just don't use it. 2. The controls are very sensitive. There are so many times that I pick up my mug and I change the temp or I change the timer because my finger brushed up against it. But, otherwise, it's a good value for the money.

Excellent!

I love the square base, it means both large or small mugs fit with ease. And the build quality is good. It doesnt feel flimsy or lightweight.
The touch buttons are easy and reactive, and the little screen is bright and easy to read.
There are 6 heat settings ranging from 130-180°f, and twelve auto shut-off options, from 1 hour up to 12 hours!
I picked this one both for the square, spacious base, and the fact that it goes up to 180°f. So many of the other options stuck to the 130-150 range, which I find just doesn't keep liquids warm at all. This one keeps them pretty warm - or warm enough.
The cord is also longer than others I've had, I don't know the exact length (it's out of emeeach down the side of my desk at the moment lol) but I like that it's longer if I need to be in the future.
It's not as cheap as some others ($19.99) but well worth the price!

I'll probably be buying another one for my husband.

This warmer works very well. You can remove the silicone mat to accommodate larger cups if, like me, you like to use larges mugs. It has multiple temperatures that come in handy as you get to the bottom of your cup and want to reduce the temperature so the last few of sips aren't too hot.
